Summer so far...

We've only officially been in summer for a few days, but we have been soaking up every second of it! Saturday, we had a pre-Father's day celebration at my Grandaddy John's house with the extended family. Although we live pretty close, we don't get to see them nearly enough, and we have such a fantastic time visiting and watching the kids play. Aunt Denise made some AWESOME bubble mix that made HUGE bubbles, so the boys spent lots of time outside playing with that. On Sunday we celebrated the #1 man in our lives - Patrick! Fortunately, Patrick had the day off on Father's Day, so we got to spend time at church and then have dinner at my parents' house that evening. The boys got their daddy some neat gifts and we just had a great time making it a special day for him. I feel so blessed to be married to such a great guy who is a truly wonderful daddy to our boys. I know our boys adore him, and I hope they grow up to respect and appreciate him as much as I do :)

On Tuesday, Patrick and I got a much-needed treat in the form of a night away from the babies in Charleston! We have not been on an "adult-only" overnight trip since our honeymoon in 2006, and we haven't ever spent a night away from Noah, so we were really looking forward to our little get-away. My mom graciously offered to watch the boys for the night, so we dropped them off mid-morning, and off we went! We went shopping at the outlets (which Patrick just LOVED) and stayed at a nice hotel on Waterfront Park called the Harbourview Inn. I totally recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay down there. We went on a ghost tour Tuesday night which was a lot of fun and spent the morning Wednesday wandering around the market area. It wasn't a long trip, but we had such a great time!

It always amuses me how whenever we do anything without the boys (like a dinner date or shopping trip) all we talk about is the boys! We spent a fair share of our time in Charleston talking about how much "Kaden would love this!" or "Noah would be so excited to see that!" It makes us excited about planning a trip later this year for all of us to enjoy Charleston together. That being said, mommy and daddy really needed some time without the boys and we had a wonderful time :) Enjoy the pictures, and have a safe and happy summer!
